TIGA BULAN UNTUK DAPATKAN WARGANEGARA MALAYSIA.

Interesting?

Nope. It is baffling.

In 1983, an Indonesian claimed that he submitted an application for a permanent residenship status to our government. In within three months, he got his PR.

See a report in the star here.

The Home Minister, among others were quoted as below:

"To speed up the approval process for permanent residency, he said the Immigration Department would focus on three categories of applications, namely foreign wives of Malaysian citizens who had been staying continuously in the country for five years or more under social visit passes or other passes.

Other categories are applications by children of Malaysian citizens aged six and below, and by spouses and children of Malaysian professionals abroad who wanted to return to the country, he said."

I will not elaborate further mengenai lelaki Indonesia ini.

Do watch 360 on TV3 at 9pm tonight.

Salam Hazrey,
Will have to catch this online today.
Memang tiap kali balik Msia for work/project purposes (more than 3 months), I pening nak deal dengan immigration. Kalau nak minta PR terus, my hubby pulak pening! Went across the border (Spore) one year and they managed to make the blunder of stampling the wrong year. Upon realising this (in KL), we headed for Putrajaya and were told to go back to JB! Putrajaya cannot do anything about it!! Go figure...

Obefiend: Yes, you should dude.

Kak Naz, this is the problem with "perkhidmatan awam". As I mentioned prior, it has been said many times about improving civil service. It has become another statement jek.

Ermm.. I guess you should consider coming back with a boat. Time? Memalam, gelap gelap. Condition? Cramped and full of risk.

They keep saying nak martabatkan bangsa Melayu, tanah Melayu, Bumiputera. And that's why UiTM, SBP and MRSM was invented. Tapi sekarang pon other race dah pelan-pelan masuk dalam kolumni neh.

It's okay, since we are like 1 Malaysia??

Tapi bila ada pulak bangsa asing diterima, diberikan tempat dekat tanah yang milik KITA, it's too much man.

Memang terkilan. God works in mysterious ways. So dipermudahkan jalan untuk lelaki ini.

But then again, orang yang menurunkan tandatangan or approval stamp ke atas application lelaki ini - kenapa agaknya terjadi begini walaupun guideline dah clear..hmm..

Ko mesti rindu gilerrrr ngan cercaan aku kan kan

Kalau yg seberang tu berkampung berdusun kat sini, dia org wat pekak je, esok2 dan buat satu wilayah autonomy Mini Jakarta kat sini baru padan muka.

Whereas our own citizen yg reside oversea nak balik jadi masalah pulak nak apply visa and what not for the non-citizen spouse and kids, kan Kaka Naz? like my beloved cousin yg sampai have to berkelana to Medan hu hu. U knew it better la kak.

Zara: Yup, 3 months. That is what he said. And I asked again, and he was saying the same, 3 months. Magic? Yes.

Audriena: You can always catch it on tv3.com.my.

Nosy: Hahah. No comment. Knowledge is important in journalism. Very important. Very. Kalau tak tahu, google kan boleh. Wait, mungkin capaian internet takde kot.

nadiah: They are not being given the land, tetapi mereka menjadi "peneroka". Dan orang tempatan tak tahu nak buat apa dah. Mungkin Pejabat Tanah & Galian tak cukup kakitangan (common answer).

Takperlah depa nak buat rumah. Biarlah, biarlah, biarlah.

Salam,
i was a primary school pupil in Petaling Jaya from 1983-1988. My father is a foreigner but my mother is a Malay Malaysian who retained her citizenship eventhough she lives in another country for more than 15 years, I was born overseas. when we return to Malaysia in 1983, every year my mother would send application for me to become a Malaysian citizen. there was never a concrete reply, always 'in the process'. finally in December 1988, after receiving my UPSR results, we received a letter from the government. by then my dad has decided not to stay in Malaysia because of the system...

Nur Hannah, it is very frustrating to be reading your story. This is what happened with our civil service. The system is there, but the implementation is still at slow pace or time spent on an issue is unacceptable.

It is saddening while many statements are being made on the losses of brains to foreign soils, the people implementing are not in tandem with whatever the ministers are saying.

However, I do hope that you or your family will not give up on Malaysia. I know you won't.
